Working in legal aid
On this page:
Why work in legal aid?
Working in legal aid provides the opportunity to make a real difference to people’s lives.
Access to good quality legal advice is essential for the most vulnerable and excluded people in society. Without it many risk losing their home, their income or their freedom.
Legal aid work provides a worthwhile, interesting and rewarding career.
What legal aid career funding is available?
The LSC launched our Training Contract Grants Scheme in 2002.
We currently provide 492 grants, over four schemes, to support the training of new legal aid solicitors.
The grants are awarded to solicitor organisations and not for profit organisations who are committed to legal aid work.
