What are RSS feeds?
RSS (Really Simple Syndication) feeds allow you to see when new updates have been added to a website.
You can use RSS to help you to keep up to date with the latest LSC news and updates you are interested in, without having to visit our website.
What RSS feeds are available from this website?
You can subscribe to the following pages on this site using RSS:
- What’s new?
- CLS news & updates
- CDS news & updates
- Press releases
- LSC Online system updates
- Press Releases from our regional network
You will need to get a news reader or similar device to subscribe to any of these feeds.
How do I get a news reader?
Many standalone news reader programs are available, which are often free to download.
Newer web browsers (eg Internet Explorer 7, Mozilla Firefox 2.5) offer similar functionality built-in. They can detect if the website you are viewing offers an RSS feed and let you create a constantly updated list bookmarks or favourites.
Some websites that let you collate your favourite RSS feeds in one place. These include Google Reader, MyYahoo and Newsgator.
How do I subscribe?
Visit the update page you want to subscribe to (eg What’s New) and click on the orange RSS feed icon at the foot of the page:

Exactly how you subscribe will depend on which news reader you are using. Most often this involves:
- cutting and pasting the URL into your news reader
- dragging the URL of the feed into your news reader.
If you are using a web browser with a built in newsreader, this usually involves clicking the orange feed icon in the address bar.
For more details, please refer to your news reader’s website.
