How we're reviewing quality assurance
Setting up a Quality Working Group
We are reviewing our quality assurance processes and procedures that affect legal aid practitioners. This includes peer review.
This review follows our agreement with The Law Society re: the Unified Contract. We will carry out the review with representatives from:
- The Law Society
- Solicitors Regulation Authority
- Resolution
- Ministry of Justice
- Institute of Advanced Legal Studies
- Advice Services Alliance.
These representatives will form our Quality Working Group.
Aims of the review
We aim to have a quality assurance framework that is:
- Objective and fair
- Integrated with other systems
- Avoids duplication.
Our current quality assurance mechanisms will continue until the review is over.
For more information
We will publish the agendas and summaries from the Quality Working Group meetings on this page.
Email your contributions to Jennifer Will. Please put the subject heading "Quality Working Group" in your email.
