About our work in Wales
Paul Davies is the Regional Director responsible for the provision of both civil and criminal legal aid in Wales. The Commissioner for Wales is Tom Jones.
Legal aid helps some of the most vulnerable and disadvantaged people in Welsh communities.
The LSC in Wales has invested over £75m per annum in developing the Community Legal Service and the Criminal Defence Service to help people get quality legal services that tackle real needs.
We estimated that we helped 55,000 in Wales this year.
Legal aid in Wales is managed by our Cardiff office.
Cardiff, Vale of Glamorgan and Bridgend Community Legal Advice Network
The LSC and Welsh Assembly Government in conjunction with the three local authorities in the proposed region are exploring proposed joint commissioning arrangements. As part of this process, comments are invited on the draft service specification by Friday 26 September 2008. Any comments or suggestions should be directed via email to Eleanor Wrighton at Eleanor.wrighton@bridgend.gov.uk

Invitation to tender to deliver publicly funded legal services
The Legal Services Commission (LSC) and the National Offender Management Service (NOMS) invite tenders from organisations that have the experience, skills, and ability to provide an accessible, independent, quality assured and integrated face-to-face debt advice service (the "Service") to clients in prison establishments in Wales.
This Information For Applicants (IFA) document contains all the information you will require to tender for the service. It contains information on how to tender, what the successful applicant would be expected to deliver, the criteria we will access applications on and the relative importance of those criteria.
The closing date for the submission of Tender Application is Friday 9 September 2008.
Please email any questions about the Tender to tracy.scott@legalservices.gov.uk before 12 noon on Friday 22 August 2008.
